AI overages auto-bill with no warning. Since January 2026, Zendesk automatically charges for every AI resolution above your committed volume, no alerts, no ceiling. A traffic spike bills itself.
The $50/seat/mo add-on is now Copilot, not Advanced AI. Since May 2026, autonomous AI agents are included in every Suite plan, but resolutions above a small monthly allowance still bill per resolution ($1.50 to $2.00 each). The surviving $50/seat/mo add-on is Copilot, which layers on agent-assist tools (intelligent triage, auto-assist, ticket summaries, suggested first replies, voice-call summaries) and is limited to Professional and Enterprise plans.
Zendesk is not built for Shopify store owners. Order lookup, refunds, cancellations, and Shopify-native actions require custom integrations or extra connector apps. Support teams still switch tabs to handle most Shopify actions.
